Educational and Learning Assessment
Learning disorders and educational challenges can occur on their own or alongside Autism, ADHD, or other behavioural difficulties. Our Educational and Learning Assessment provides a comprehensive evaluation of the factors that may be impacting an individual's academic progress, learning, and everyday functioning.
Common Indicators of Learning Difficulties
Children and adults with Specific Learning Disorders, including Dyselxia, Dysgraphia, or Dyscalculia, may experience persistent challenges such as:

-
Difficulty with reading, writing, spelling or mathematics
-
Work that appears slower, more effortful, or contains frequent errors despite putting in strong effort
-
Difficulty understanding, retaining, or applying learnt concepts despite adequate instruction and practice
-
Increased frustration, avoidance, or fatigue when completing school or work-related tasks.

What's Involved
An Educational and Learning assessment consists of two sessions for children, or one extended session for adolescents and adults.

-
Session One: a 1 hour clinical interview is conducted to gather information about the individual's academic history, development, current functioning, and presenting concerns. For children and adolescents, this interview is conducted with parents/carers. For adults seeking assessment, this interview is conducted with the individual and, where appropriate, a close family member (e.g., parents/carer or partner).
-
Session Two: Includes a 1 to 2 hour testing session that evaluates cognitive abilities, academic skills, executive functioning, and behaviour. For adolescents and adults, assessment tasks are typically completed on the same day as the interview, with breaks provided as needed.

You will also be asked to provide any relevant previous reports, school records, or medical information, and to complete questionnaires to gather supporting information from parents/carers, self-report, and/or teachers, where appropriate.

What You'll Receive
-
A comprehensive written report that includes clinical diagnosis (if applicable), tailored recommendations, and guidance regarding support needs and next steps.
-
All reports are based on gold standard diagnostic measures and are accepted by schools, workplaces, and government agencies for funding, support, and accommodation applications.
 -
An optional feedback session is also available for parents, families, or individuals who wish to discuss the assessment findings, diagnoses, and recommendations further.

Who Can Be Assessed
We currently provide Educational and Learning assessments for children (aged 5 years and older), adolescents, and adults.
Many children are assessed when learning difficulties become noticeable at home or school. Adults may seek assessment later in life to better understand their learning profile, access appropraite supports, or make sense of long-standing academic, occupational, or emotional challenges.
