No referral is required to book an assessment. However, a referral from a GP, paediatrician, psychiatrist, or school can be helpful in providing background information and guiding the assessment process.
Please note, that a referral from a paediatrician or psychiatrist is required to access Medicare rebates for neurodevelopmental assessments, including Autism and ADHD testing.
The length of an assessment varies depending on the type of assessment and the individual’s needs.
Most assessments involve one to two sessions, each typically lasting 1–3 hours. Breaks are provided as needed to ensure comfort and optimal performance.
Reports are typically provided within 6–8 weeks following the assessment sessions. All reports include a detailed overview of the individual’s background and referral information, a clear explanation of assessment tools and results, an integrated summary, and tailored recommendations and resources.
Timeframes may vary during busy periods, and this will be discussed with you at the time of booking.
Yes, assessment reports can be used to support NDIS access requests, reviews, and planning, where appropriate. While we cannot guarantee NDIS outcomes, reports clearly outline diagnostic findings and functional impact to support applications.

For young children, sessions are designed to be short, engaging, and child-friendly. In some cases, assessments may be completed across three shorter sessions to support comfort and optimise performance.
Please provide copies of any relevant previous reports, medical information, or school records prior to your appointment, where available.
If you wear glasses or hearing aids, please bring these to the session. If you take prescribed medication, please continue to take this as usual on the day of the assessment, unless otherwise advised by your prescribing practitioner.
