Cognitive Assessment
A cognitive assessment provides a detailed understanding of an individual’s thinking, reasoning, problem-solving, and learning abilities. These assessments are commonly used to identify an individual’s cognitive strengths and areas of difficulty, inform educational or workplace supports, and assist with diagnostic clarification.

Cognitive assessments may be recommended for a range of reasons, including concerns about learning or academic progress; intellectual functioning or giftedness; attention, memory, or processing speed; problem-solving or reasoning skills; or changes in cognitive abilities that are impacting everyday functioning.
What's Involved
Cognitive testing is included in each of our assessment packages, including Autism, ADHD, and Educational and Learning Assessments or can be conducted as a standalone assessment if required.
The cognitive assessment is conducted over one session and includes a clinical interview with either parent/carers (if the assessment is for a child) or the individual (if assessing an adult). The cognitive test is then administered to evaluate areas such as verbal and non-verbal reasoning, visual spatial skills, working memory, and processing speed.

You may also be asked to provide any relevant previous reports, school records, or medical information, and to complete questionnaires to gather supporting information where appropriate.

What You'll Receive
-
A comprehensive written report that includes a clear summary of cognitive strengths and areas of difficulty, clinical diagnosis (where applicable), tailored recommendations, and guidance regarding support needs and next steps.
-
All reports are based on gold standard diagnostic measures and are accepted by schools, workplaces, and government agencies for funding, support, and accommodation applications.
 -
An optional feedback session is also available for parents, families, or individuals who wish to discuss the assessment findings, diagnoses, and recommendations further.

Who Can Be Assessed
We currently provide Educational and Learning assessments for children (aged 5 years and older), adolescents, and adults.
Children may be assessed to better understand learning profiles, intellectual functioning, or to support educational planning. Adults may seek a cognitive assessment to clarify strengths and challenges, support workplace accommodations, or explore concerns related to learning, memory, or problem-solving.
